Hardee's is an American restaurant chain with locations primarily in the south and midwest of the United States. The chain was founded in Rocky Mount, NC in 1960 by Wilbur Hardee. It is owned by CKE restaurants. It is the 5th largest fast food restaurant chain in the United States. The Hardee's fast food menu consists mainly of hamburgers, french fries, biscuit sandwiches, sodas and milkshakes. Nearly half of Hardee's profits stem from its breakfast sales. The median age of the typical Hardee's customer is 45. The chain is very popular in the southern part of the United States. Some southeastern Hardee's carry unique menu items like biscuit sandwiches made with smoked sausage or chicken fried steak.
